Unser Frau (1,500 m)
Unser Frau, situated in the midst of the valley and surrounded by extensive meadows and old farmsteads, is the largest town in the Schnalstal valley. Our pilgrimage church was built on a rock in 1304. Visitors enjoy hiking on the St. Mary pilgrimage trail, which leads directly to the church.
From the ArcheoParc Schnals, located not far away from the church, you can perfectly see the Tisenjoch site, where Ötzi the Iceman was found on 19th September 1991 by a German couple, the Simons.
Enjoy the atmosphere and charm of our village. In the summer, cows are grazing on the surrounding green pastures, and the sound of their bells can be heard throughout the village. And in the winter, with the snow crunching under your shoes, you will enjoy the tranquility of our marvelous winter landscape. Talking to the locals on the street is a rewarding way to learn more about the Schnalstal valley and its inhabitants.
