Hiking tours
Explore the Schnalstal valley, which is a true paradise for hikers. On 240 km of well-marked, partly archaeological trails you can walk in the footsteps of Ötzi the Iceman and stop at one of the rustic and cozy mountain lodges.
The Texel Group Nature Park is the largest nature reserve in South Tyrol. It is a stunning high mountain landscape full of contrasts. Here you can find a wide variety of biocoenoses, from the Mediterranean habitat to the glaciers. All this makes the reserve a paradise for hikers and nature lovers alike. In the Pfossental valley alone, situated the heart of the nature reserve, there are more chamois and ibex than there are inhabitants in the whole Schnalstal valley.
Our hotel is an ideal starting point for many hikes such as a romantic walk round the lake or to the remote mountain lake, or even a hike up to a 3,000-metre peak. You might choose to hike from one farm to the next, from one mountain lodge to the next, or just to take a walk alongside the 'Waal' trail in the Schnalstal valley. The St. Mary pilgrimage trail leads to the mountain village of Karthaus. As these are only some of the numerous possible activities, we will be glad to make further suggestions according to your individual wishes.
