The Schnalstal Valley: a skier's paradise

Ski touring is the best way for off-piste skiing, allowing you to experience the original form of skiing in pristine nature. The numerous 3,000-metre peaks of the Ötztal Alps and the Texel Group Nature Park are ideal for this kind of activity. The Schnalstal Valley truly is a skier's paradise set against a beautiful nature backdrop, where you can enjoy exciting ascents and long descents on pristine firn snow slopes leading down to the valley.

The Tourism Association can provide you with the "SCHNALSTALER SKITOURENFÜHRER" ski-touring guide including a map with information on 16 ski-touring trails.

PLEASE NOTE: Before starting your skiing excursion, consult the current avalanche report. Or even better, let our state-certified mountain and ski guides accompany you. They are perfect guides for a safe skiing experience. The Tourism Association offers weekly guided skiing tours; among others, to the Tisenjoch pass, where the mummy of Ötzi the Iceman was found, and to the Saldurscharte or Schwemserspitze mountains (see also the weekly programme).
